Dear Martinez Little League Families,

We hope you and your families are safe and healthy. The past few months have been very challenging for all of us. We as a board have been working very hard to keep the 2020 baseball and softball season going. With the current restrictions in place for Contra Costa County and after discussing what is required with The City of Martinez, we have decided to officially cancel the remainder of the Instructional and Peewee baseball and softball season. We are offering a partial refund or credit to those families who would like to accept it.

Thankfully, the players got on the field to practice and begin to learn the game. We are also very thankful that we got the annual parade and pictures done before the official shut down. With all that being said, there are many non-refundable costs from the league year-round, including field maintenance, equipment purchases, league charter fees, insurance fees, field rental fees, etc. We have also purchased uniforms for everyone and purchased the pictures that the league supplies with your registration costs. Please also know that we did not get to hold any of our fundraisers or open our snack shack to make up for the expenses and our low registration costs. After going over cost and expenses we are offering a $70 refund or credit towards the 2021 season.

As for the AA, AAA, Majors, Intermediate, Juniors and Senior divisions in baseball and softball, we have worked out details to continue our season, with restrictions, and begin practicing. At this time, we will need to know if you would like to continue with the season, or if you would like to hang up your cleats for 2020 and return for our 2021 season. If you would like to end the season now and would like a partial refund or credit, we would be happy to get that to you.

Refunds will be issued starting next week. If you would like a refund for 2020 or credit for the 2021 season please contact the league at [email protected] with your players name, division, team name and if you are requesting a refund or credit.

We are just as disappointed as you are to have to cancel any division of play and would like to thank you for your patience as we worked through this unfortunate time we are all in. We look forward to seeing you on the fields soon.
