Note:  I do work during the day and will not always be able to return emails/phone calls promptly.  

             

                         

SNACK SHACK RULES

*       No person under 16 years of age allowed in the snack shack.

*       Please do not work in Snack Shack if you have cold or flu symptoms!!!

*       First game of the day arrive 30min before game, and/or follow your shift schedule (see attached).

*       Team Snacks are NOT to be stored in the Snack Shack.

*       No tabs, checks or free food.

*       No smoking

*       PLEASE wash hands after handling money.  The disposable plastic gloves (provided in all snack shacks) must be worn while preparing and serving food.

*       Umpires & Score Board Volunteers (Hidden Lakes & Borman Fields ONLY!) are provided at no charge one food item and one drink.  Umpires can have unlimited water within reason.

*       Players are not to be served food during their games.

*       After the game, follow closing/clean up procedures carefully.


 

TEAM SNACK SHACK VOLUNTEERS

*       Parent volunteers snack shack staffing:

*       Morello (Joey Garcia Field #2), Mt. View Park – 1 parent per team

                    Field #1 Games DO NOT work in the Snack Shack

§         Note:  On Saturdays the home team on field #2 must supply a second parent from 12:30 -2:30  This is to provide extra staff for the busy lunch time.

*       Borman – I parent per team

*       Hidden Lakes: TBD

*       Two volunteers can work, sharing the shift:  one working the first half of the game, the other the last half.

*       Weeknight games and the first game on Saturdays arrive 30 min before game time to complete opening procedures.  All other games arrive 15 min early to relieve the parents that are already working.

*       Sign IN and OUT on Check In/Out Sheet at each Snack Shack.

*       No person under 16 years of age allowed in the snack shack.

*       No free food or tabs

*       Umpires & Score Board Volunteers (Hidden Lakes & Borman Fields ONLY!) are provided at no charge one food item and one drink.  Umpires can have unlimited water within reason.

*       First Aid Kits & Ice for injury’s is located in each snack shack.

*       Directions for opening and closing are posted in each snack shack.  Please read and follow directions closely.

*       If a game is stopped due to rain, follow closing procedures; lock up cash and lock the snack shack as described in the closing procedure.

*       Register Cash:  Upon Closing leave in the register (30/1’s, 8/5’s & 3/10’s) for a total of $100) Place balance of cash into the black box.

*       Do Not Count or remove the coins from the register

*       $20 bills go into lock box – never in cash register!

Snack Shack sales should begin as soon as possible, definitely by game time.

 


 

Opening/Closing Procedures to be followed as instructed below:

Hot Dog Machine

 

 

 

*Fill with water (PRIORITY ITEM)

*Place bun steamer plate, round regulator plate and basket on right

*Set temperature on high until hot dogs are heated then reduce heat to 4/5

Add hot dogs and buns

Add water on hot dog side on Saturdays to keep from running dry.  The machine will burn out if the water level drops too low.

*Unplug & Drain water (HOT! BE CAREFUL!)

Take apart machine and wash all stainless steel parts and inside of machine with hot soapy water****DO NOT TAKE OUT GLASS!!  KEEP IN MACHINE AT ALL TIMES!***

Put washed parts in drain

Let air dry

Chili and Cheese Sauce

 

 

 

*Place water in warmer unit and set on high (PRIORITY ITEM)

X

 

 

*Put chili and cheese into separate warming pots and place in warming unit until contents hot, then turn heat to 4/5, maintaining temp at or above 140 F. 

X

 

 

*If necessary add 1 cup of water to ½ can of Nacho Cheese to thin sauce.

Keep area and pots clean.  If cheese runs out, clean warming pots as described in closing procedures and place fresh chili and cheese in pots to warm- see opening procedures.

If contents have been reheated less than 2 times

 

 

 

*Fill gray bus tray with ice and place both pots in the ice to cool 20min before scheduled game is to end.

Once temperature of cheese sauce and chili is down, cover both containers with Saran wrap and place in refrigerator.

Wash lids and ladles

If contents have been reheated more than 2 times

Scrape sides, add soapy water and Bounce dryer sheet for cooked on chili and cheese. Attempt to clean first, then let sit in sink if it is too baked on.

Containers will be cleaned later by the SS committee.

Coffee/Hot Water

 

 

 

*(Borman-Make hot water first, place in Thermos)  Make coffee as needed

*Set out sugar, creamer, and stirrers

X

 

 

Empty and rinse both coffee and hot water pots

Unplug machine

Empty out coffee/water thermos, wash and dry

 

 

X

Candy/Snacks

 

 

 

Restock as necessary.

Condiments

 

 

 

*Fill containers

*Place fork in sauerkraut, spoons in the others

*Place condiment tray in gray bus tray, place ice around to keep condiments cold. Set containers out.

Clean table/counter under/around condiments

Wipe down ketchup, mustard containers, straw and napkin dispensers.

Wash serving forks and spoons—do not throw out serving utensils.  Save condiments if clean and fresh

If condiments are clean and fresh, cover each condiment container with plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Cleaning & Exit
Start closing procedures during last inning. Snack Shack Committee representative will come and double check Snack Shack each night and will double lock it.

Keep counters clean by wiping down with hot soapy water.

Serving Windows

 

 

 

Morello Park-Close metal security window and lock from inside, then close windows and screens.

Borman-close metal security window, slide each side into locking position then place bolt in center flange and counter, securing it with the nut underneath counter.

Hidden Lakes- close metal security window, slide each side into locking position, place clip in both metal parts on right side.    Always double check.

Cash

 

 

 

Leave in register $100 for operating cash 30/1s, 8/5’s & 3/10’s

If you don’t have that breakdown leave the closest combination as possible.  DO NOT count the coins or remove from the register.
